Elephant Safari Park in Taro village

In March, 2009, I visited BALI ADVENTURES! Today, I try the most popular course, “Rafting & Elephant Safari park Tour, “ so I arrive at Elephant Park after enjoy rafting.

This park is aimed at protecting Sumatra elephants, owned by Australian. 29 elephants are living in the wide ground. This elephant park is known as very unique place in the world, such as Elephant Ride, Elephant Show, and there are the Elephant Lodge and Spa. The park is organized clean and full of green, as close as Sumatra elephants’ original habitat. I could see that they are treating elephants really kindly.

It takes about 20 min. by car. 		Arrived!! Looks like the leisure land gate!

In the wide lobby, there is the big skeletal structure of elephant. In the next room, there are gallery and museum, and we can learn elephants in the world and their life. In the museum, there is the big replica of mammoth. All exhibitions are gathered by owner and they are rare as the fossil of ancient elephant and antiques.

All elephants give enough space for each, and they live there with calm.

Lots of minus ion, yah!! 		The pond where the big fish from Amazon is living in.
Be careful not to fall down.

Lunch buffet: BBQ Lunch buffet: fruit and dessert
For “Rafting + Elephant,” you eat lunch in the rafting finishing point, however, for Elephant Ride only, you eat in Elephant Park. Beautiful! Nice!! There are many fruit and dessert. I understand that they are also focus on food service. I just ate, but look tasty!!

Ride on the back of elephant

I rode on house and camel, but elephant is the first time for me!! It is higher than I expected. The seat is stable, so it’s not sway or move, but I’m thrilled! A woman staff takes a picture before start riding course when I give my camera to her. I’m leaving now!!

Trainer: Handono Banana trees
Trainer, Handono, just sits on elephants’ neck. In Elephant Park, one exclusive trainer takes care of one same elephant for long time. Therefore, their relationship is strong. Throughout the park, we are ahead to Taro forest… We walk in the deep quiet jungle. There are banana trees and strong smell durian on the way.

We can see the farm animals such as cows, chickens, and pigs. If I can eat, I like pork! After passing the temple in Taro village, we go back to the park. 2 persons can ride on an elephant together.

Looks very comfortable by washing body. Elephant is innocent! At the end, we go to the drinking water place, which is the big pond!!

I cannot swim, so I was scared to fell down to the pond… But, the elephant and Handono both just take it easy and no problem!

Other staffs waiting in this place, so if you ask and give your camera to the staffs, they take pictures for you, They are also selling pictures, but if you ask to take by your camera, of course, it’s free!! They take lots of pictures!!

You are given a flower ring from elephants, you feed to elephants and touch to them… you are free to make relationship with elephants before and after Elephant Ride! There is no extra charge for that.

Oh, it’s rain!? Now is the end of rainy season, so it happens sometimes.
But staffs come to us with an umbrella!		 Rain stop shortly, it’s the third times of Elephant Show today. Go to the Elephant Arena!

I’m worried about them, but their performance is tombs up.		 Play soccer ball, sit down on chair… the show that a trainer is held by elephant’s nose is excellent!!
New Lodge Lodge’s room
Actually, they just open new lodges!! Do you want to stay in the 27 private lodges and have relaxing time with elephants? This is the inside of the room. There is the drawing of elephant on the wall, all bed covers and pillow cases have elephants’ motive!!

During staying in the lodge, you can enjoy Elephant Ride as many times as you want, swimming in the pool and take treatment at spa with elephants view… If you wish, elephant pick you up at check-in and check-out!! If you are interested in, please ask detailed information to Elephant Park!

I had the image of riding elephants in Thailand, but, Bali’s elephant Park is also great!! Beautiful, big, clean park area, and there are the museum, gift shop, big fish from Amazon… It’s like a leisure land. If you think that you want to buy nice souvenir, learn about elephants, and have tasty meals besides Elephant Ride, you may try this tour!

Moreover, there are elephants that spending in the wide space, staffs welcome new baby elephant, and trainers make relationship with elephants through training. These views in Elephant Park made me happy.
