Horse Riding report

In March 2009, I joined Horse Riding which is held in Saba Beach , northern Sanur! On the day, I have to cover Horse Riding in the morning and Camel safari in the afternoon. Maybe, I have experience of horse ride in my hometown… I’m little scared big animals, but I report today.

Village Building of Horse Riding
Horse Riding is located in the quiet village, through by-pass to north and goes into the narrow road. It’s only parking place, reception, and horse house. 20 Java horses are living there.
Monkey Horse
Horse, monkey, cat, and dog… there are many animals. Everybody loves animals, maybe. Taking shower. Horse’s body is big…!
Judi, female horse Agreement form
The horse is my horse today, Judi, female. I’m scared so ask a staff that if she is not hungry or easy to get anger. Sign the agreement form. It has notice that horse riding may have accident, and they don’t cover broken or missing belongings.
Horse Riding road Guide, Made
I learn how to hold reins, and how to give signs to horse, then, we go to beach. Guide can speak good English. He is guide, Made who has 8 year horse ride experience! He loves animals, happy guy.

I tried horse riding in a gage before, but it’s first time to ride horse alone in such a free space! Too high!! Scared!! I gave my camera to the guide, and asked take pictures. It’s better to bring 2 cameras, one for taking by myself, and the other for asking somebody take pictures! I’m too scared, so it’s my best smile for now!!

Look at this!! Do I look elegance, don’t I? At this moment, I was too nerves to look around the view, but on the picture, it’s nice view!
I didn’t know that “Southern country + Sea + Horse Riding” becomes such a nice picture!
Saba Beach Other guest riding horse
Go along Saba Beach to north. We pass a stream and meet women who are gathering clams. Judi always tries to go back to home, and it’s difficult to control her.(ﾉ_･｡) On the day, there is another guest from Australia. Woman rides on horse, and guide holds a horse by the bridle. Maybe, I suppose to try this beginner style.
Made and horse Break point
Made is very good at riding, running, turning, as he becomes a part of horse. Awesome! It’s really hot in beach with strong sunshine!! Have to put sun lotion. We take a break at Keramas, the famous surfing point. Many surfers enjoy the big wave. Don’t forget to bring your wallet; drink is not included in this course!

After taking a break, we go back to the same route. Horse Riding takes 2 hours to walk slowly, if we run, it takes about 1.5 hours. I have lunch in the quiet area, Masari Villa restaurant. It’s nice view!

You can choose your seat in the restaurant, outdoor table seat, or sofa seat beside the pool. Gorgeous!! In calm resort, eating lunch with great green view… Oh, I want to stay here!!
Club House Sandwich Strawberry Ice Cream
Lunch menu can be chosen from Nasi Goreng/ Fish & Chips/ Club House Sandwich/ Spaghetti Polonaise. This is sandwich; it is big portion with chicken and egg! Desert is 3 kinds of ice cream or fruit salad. I choose strawberry ice cream! I’m really full…
Big pool

They offer good service; we can swim in the villa’s pool!!
Moreover, they prepare towels for us! Lunch time is about 1 hour, so if you finish lunch quickly, you have time to swim. There is shower next to the pool.

It was my first time Horse Riding. I don’t touch such a big animal in daily life, so everything new for me;
horse’s warm body, vibration of walking steps, and so on! It’s difficult to control the horse; not stop when I want to stop, try to go back to home when I want to go forward… I had hard time. For me, it takes long time to practice in order to run with the horse. Guide, Made said, “It’s because you don’t believe your horse.” Actually, the horse is sensitive animal, and maybe, Judi felt that I was scared… It’s important to believe horse and ride on with confidence!

In addition, I was really satisfied with lunch in Masari Villa.! I was surprised that because I didn’t expect such a gorgeous dishes! I thought that we just eat light meal in a small restaurant, but the lunch is taste good, big portion, and great view of restaurant!! If you think that Riding Horse in Bali is mismatch, you might be surprised by the full tour program. Please try.
By the way, I still have muscle ache while writing this report!
